Madeleine and Mike wed

Thank you Madeleine and Mike for allowing us to be with you on your special day and special thanks to Angela Sapach and Amy Hammons who helped shoot. These two you will be seeing a lot of in the future. They make a great team. Lots of fun stuff going on during this wedding. One being the band that played at the wedding was Heartland ( I loved Her First). I actually got to sit with one of the members of the band and chat for a while which was a treat.

What was your first impression of each other?
We first met at work, so our first impressions weren’t your “typical” romantic answers. As time went on, we got to know each other better and became good friends.
Madeleine’s answer: When we got to be good friends, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with someone just like Mike. It was so easy to be myself around him, he always made me laugh, and I was attracted to his confidence.
Mike’s answer: After we got to know each other, I was in love with Madeleine’s outgoing personality and how I always seemed to be happy and in a great mood just being around her.

How did he propose?
He proposed on the beach. He was looking for shark’s teeth in the sand, and Madeleine was sun bathing. Mike came up and said, “I found a big one.” Madeleine looked up and saw the ring. He got down on both knees, and the first thing that came out of her mouth was, “Do my parents know? Does Mahsa know (her Maid of Honor)?” Mike just looked at her with an expression of “Well…?” and she replied, “Oh! Of Course!”

What unique & special touches did you have that made your wedding different from anyone else's?
We really wanted to feel laid back and comfortable, so the guys wore flip-flops, and the girls went barefoot.
Madeleine and Mike took a financial course at church together in January. Wedding plans were already in the making. Madeleine had found her dream dress, but it was $1200. She was highly considering buying it because the thought “you only get married once” kept playing through her head, but the further they got into the financial course, the more she started feeling like she shouldn’t get such an expensive dress. Well, after some searching on the internet, she found some ladies in China who made dresses for brides by pictures they sent and based on each individual’s measurements. Madeleine got the dress she wanted for more than $1000 less than if she got it at a store. Plus, it was made according to her measurements, so no alterations!
8. What was the biggest challenge you had while planning your wedding? How did you over come it? What advice would you give to anyone planning a wedding?
Everything seemed to be going wrong and bad luck was lurking everywhere for about the last two months. We got through it by just not letting it get to us. When one of us was upset, the other was calm and took the support role. We just tried to keep in mind that it will all work itself out one way or another. Why get stressed and upset when it is supposed to be one of the happiest times of your life?

Every wedding we try to pick out wedding purses that make a statement. Hopefully one day we will be able to compile all our purses into book.
